Elect Craig Pappin
12th District Court Judge-Jackson County, Michigan
"Growing up in Michigan, my family values taught me accountability and a strong work ethic. I have lived my life by the motto: service above self."
Craig's life experience, a diverse professional career, knowledge of the law, and its fair application, have prepared him to serve as 12th District Judge in Jackson County.
Craig, and his wife Debbie of 23 years, are your neighbors - living in the City of Jackson’s fourth ward. "While we were not blessed with children, we enjoy the company of our spirited rescue-adoption dogs Cooley and Buddy."
A Michigan native, Craig joined the United States Air Force in 1979. Following Basic training, he attended advanced school as a Law Enforcement Specialist and was assigned to Grand Forks AFB, ND and later to Hellenikon AB Athens Greece.
Craig was recruited to the Office of Special Investigations, (OSI) and attended their academy in Washington DC in 1983. Graduating as a Special Agent, Craig was assigned to Scott AFB, IL, and in 1985 was reassigned back to Washington DC, to become the Air Force's only full-time undercover agent. After an 18 month tour of duty, Craig was reassigned to Andrews AFB, MD, where in addition to his investigative duties, he provided protective service operational support for various Heads of State and other high-ranking dignitaries. Craig completed his second service obligation and received an honorable discharge, in order to pursue his business interests.
However, in 2001, Craig rejoined the OSI by serving with the Air Force Reserves. In September he was ordered to Washington DC, and was there for the aftermath of the Pentagon attack.
In 2003 Craig was mobilized and ordered to active duty for Operation Iraqi Freedom, and served as a supervisory agent at the OSI Command Center "Global Watch". Following his mobilization period, Craig returned to Reserve Status, where he continued to serve as the Reserve Supervisor at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ.
